Day 4: Sleighs

Nothing irritated Neji Hyuuga more than a loud, boisterous Kiba teasing him about the current state of his relationship with the bun-haired kunoichi.

Neji knew exactly where they stood as did Tenten. It was Kiba's lack of this information that caused him to try and provoke him into turning the brightest possible shade of red imaginable. And it didn't help that he was stuck on a sleigh ride with him either.

"I bet the two of you haven't even kissed," Kiba laughed. He was seated across from them sharing a blanket with Hinata. "Has he even held your hand yet Tenten?"

Her cheeks flushed while Neji scowled. "What business it is of yours?" He countered.

"I just find it funny how much time you spend keeping other guys away from her, and yet you do nothing to be with her." Kiba turned and kissed Hinata's forehead before turning back to Tenten and addressing her. "Why waste your time on him?"

"Kiba," Hinata finally chimed in, "if they want to remain just friends then let them be." She snuggled in closer to him under the blanket.

Tenten smiled at her in thanks. She hadn't wanted to go against what Neji and she had decided about keeping their relationship low key, but Kiba had been starting to get to her. The entire sleigh ride had been a non-stop joke to him. Even the white powder fluttering from the sky couldn't distract him.

Under the blanket the two were sharing Neji squeezed her hand. He never wanted to come on this Christmas adventure with his cousin, Kiba, and Tenten. He had for her sake, though.

"You owe me big time for this, you know." He leaned over and whispered in her ear.

Tenten looked over to Neji. "It's not so bad. The snow out here makes everything look so beautiful."

After glancing briefly over to the young Inuzuka and seeing he was fully absorbed in Hinata, he moved his gaze back to Tenten. He reached his free hand out and brushed a few of the falling snow flakes from her bangs. "Yeah. I suppose it does."
